Pilot: Riptide is piloted by Ben Davidson, who is generally considered to be one of the best in the field (at least in his universe). He adopts multiple approachs based on which kind of monster he fights, favoring long distance combat against grounded melee fighters, and close quarters fighting on weapons heavy opponents. Usually, he adopts a mid range strategy, relying on Riptide's exceptionally powerful arsenal to put an end to the opposition before they can strike back. However, he is somewhat arrogant and cocky, meaning a talented foe can find openings in his attacks and exploit them.
Attacks:
1) Super NOVA Cannon- Fired from Riptide's mouth, the Super NOVA (Neutron Overload Velocity Accelerator), is a powerful heavy particle beam cannon that has an electric blue hue. The weapon works by an experimental process where heavy neutral neutrons are actually run through a particle accelerator, giving them devastating penetrative power. Because the particles are accelerated to near lightspeeds, the beam is also incredibly hot. The weapon has a minimal charge time of a few seconds, but it can be charged longer for more power.

2) Dual Shoulder Mounted ANECs- Riptide's shoulder mounted guns are powerful ANECs (Augmented Nuclear Energy Cannons), which convert power directly from the fusion reactors into a focused stream of superheated radiation. Because these weapons are tied directly to the reactors, they drain more energy than some of Riptide's other weapons. It takes 3-5 seconds to charge the beams, although they can be charged longer for more power. The beams are a bright green in color.

3) TX-9D Hydra III Missiles- Fired from ports in Riptide's legs, the powerful missiles have enhanced homing and mobility functions, and also pack a powerful punch designed to penetrate kaiju hide and armor alike. Fired in bursts of eight.
4) Electroshock Anchors- Fired from the underside of Riptide's wrist, these powerful cables are tipped with a sharpened titanium harpoon, and are capable fo delivering a charge of 1.5 million volts of electricity. The harpoons can be retracted for mulitple uses, and a surge protector prevents a backflow of energy back up the cable. The cables can also be detached in the event that the harpoon cannot be extracted.

5) Plasma Cutters- These powerful plasma weapons are focused swords of energy directed from between the bladed units on Riptide's wrists. The blades are designed to slice through armor and flesh alike with ease, and then cauterize the wound, preventing any sort of regeneration from taking place. Additionally, the bladed focusing arrays can be used as makeshift melee weapons, as they do not cauterize wounds. However, their cutting potential is significantly less than the Plasma Cutters.

Finishing Move: Corona-Eclipse Overdrive Cannon
Riptide's ultimate weapon and finisher attack, the CEOC is fired from the chest panel. the panel itself splits into four sections and opens up. The area is tied directly to the reactors, and immediately upon activation, the power-up sequence begins. It takes roughly 15 seconds to charge the weapon, during which time Riptide suffers from a steady decline in power output and combat effectiveness, to a maximum of 75% loss in power and combat effectiveness. Moments before firing, Riptide braces itself as best as possible, using a footlock system (the footlock system does not activate unless the CEOC is being fired).
Once fully charged, the CEOC unleashes a massive stream of super concentrated thermonuclear energy in a straight line ahead. The weapon is essentially an oversized version of the ANECs and is extremely hot. The beam also generates a powerful concussive shockwave that spreads out from the beam itself, which can knock all but the heaviest monsters back if they happen to be too close. The beam lasts for approximately six seconds before dissipating. After firing, Riptide is incapable of using any of it's weapons, and all but basic movement and subsonic flight. Because of the lengthy charge time and the weapon's drain on the reactors, Riptide uses it very rarely, usually against heavily armored foes or relatively stationary targets.
Defenses:
1)TiTun III Hardened Alloy Armor
A titanium-tungsten composite alloy designed to withstand temperatures up to 6000 degrees without melting. The alloy is lightweight and durable, allowing Riptide to take incredible amounts of punishment.
2) NXT Synthetic Neo-Diamond Hybrid Armor- The synthetic diamond heat shield covering Riptide offers protection from most any thermal based weapon, including electricity, plasma, fire, lava, and thermal energy beams. The sheath also prevents or reduces the cutting power of most weapons without a comparable hardness factor.
3) Barrier Fields- Riptide can generate powerful force fields from the crystal units on the forearms. Each shield is approximately 50 meters in diameter. The force fields can block both physical and energetic attacks. However, they can be shorted out by being hit with an exceptionally powerful attack, one with an unusual composition (anti-matter for example), or from a prolonged assault. If the shields are shorted out, it takes 20 seconds to bring them back online. The shields must be activated for each susequent use and are not permanently active. Prolonged use puts a great strain on Riptide's power supplies, and kinetic force can still be transfered through them.
4) Advanced Computer Support Systems- Although Riptide is piloted, an advanced pseudo-AI program interacts with the pilot by activating weapons and targeting systems via voice command. The system is shielded against EMPs and high magnetism. In case of an emergency, such as the unlikely event that the pilot is otherwise incapacitated, the AI can take over and pilot Riptide, although it will often use this opportunity to run away, rather than re-engage the opponent.
5) Multi-tiered Sensor Array- Riptide posseses multiple sensor systems, including RADAR, SONAR, and Infra-red, as well as X-ray and electromagnetic sensors.
6) Flight at Mach 3 utilizing a powerful Ion Thruster array, both on the machine's back, but also on the legs and feet, which provides incredible mobility as well.
Weaknesses:
1) Concentrated freezer attacks, like the Super X3's freezer maser, can cause temporary loss in power, reducing the effectiveness of Riptide's weapons.
2) The NXT sheathe can be breached with crushing or piercing attacks, reducing or outright negating it's effectivness.
